MATT WEIS

Matt began playing guitar at a very young age in Chicago, IL. It has always been a passion and a dream to be playing music for a living and that dream has been realized. taught guitar and bass for 6 years, passing on his experience and knowledge of music theory, and elements of jazz, blues, funk, rock, bluegrass, and reggae. “One of the greatest compliments I have received is that he is a very versatile musician. I play guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, slide guitar, and write my own music as well,” states Matt. Moving from Chicago has reinvigorated his passion for songwriting and live performance. “You can’t write music unless you engulf your life in it… If you don’t have tales of travel, pain, love, heartache, triumph, hurt, challenge, and loneliness, it becomes very hart to write great songs. I hope that comes across in my latest work.” Matt plays a lot of solo acoustic shows around the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, and also plays with some of the best acts in the region as well as an accompanying musician becoming a well reputed multi-intrumentalist.  Whether he is jamming acoustic music on the beach, or rocking out on stage on an electric guitar, it’s an experience not to be missed.
