Mighty Mongo w/ The Infinite Eights, Nalani & Josh – $7
August 20, 2017 @ 5:00 pm$7
Mighty Mongo (ROCK/ROLL/ETC)
Is a 5-piece rock band full of happy people from Central Florida. We love touring and performing more than we love living – we spent our 2012 and 2013 summers on the Vans Warped Tour, and the winter of 2014 as support for Reel Big Fish on their “Don’t Stop Skankin’ Tour”. We have an E.P, 2 full-length albums, and a new single “Comeback” available on iTunes, Spotify, and pretty much any other service that streams music on the internet. We’ve got a brand new full-length album coming out the summer of 2015 featuring three new band members, one of whom plays the saxophone.
The Infinite Eights (ALTERNATIVE/INDIE/ROCK)
Members Parker Wilkson and Davin Norman met in the summer of 2011 at the Patel Conservatory in Tampa, Florida. The two played in a variety of bands together for nearly two years, and quickly became acquainted. Wilkson, who had begun writing songs, wanted to form a group that would be devoted to writing and performing original material, so he invited Norman to join him in October 2012. After cycling through several names, it was finally decided to name the group “The Infinite Eights.” The group continued to develop music, all the while searching for more members to join. The band’s first show was at Ybor City’s Market on 7th in November 2013. Later that month, Wilkson met drummer Tyler Hanks at the Patel Conservatory while the two performed in a jazz ensemble. Impressed by Hanks’s talent, Wilkson invited him to join the band as a percussionist, and Hanks agreed. The trio continued writing, performing, and recording for the next several years, putting out their first official release, “Unfound EP,” on December 18th, 2015. The band is currently recording and writing new music.
