Troy Youngblood and the Soulfish (SOUL/BLUES)
Troy Youngblood and The SoulFish is a six or seven-piece band that plays a unique kind of soul blues. They used to be gypsies living in the Florida wilderness. But in 2015, they surfaced in the Tampa Bay area, bringing their brand of blues and soul with them. They recently placed third in the Suncoast Blues Challenge, and their songs have been featured on WMNF 88.5 Tampa. Also on their resume are festivals like the Orange Blossom Jamboree, Peace Love and Blueberries, Myakka River Jam, Zen Fest, Aurora Sol Fest, and Luna Walkabout Fest.
Band of Sorrows (AMERICANA/COUNTRY)
Sounding like the result of a whiskey soaked tryst between Merle and Steve Earle, Band of Sorrows offers up songs about the Southern human condition.
Friends of Fil (IMPROVISATION/JAZZ/BLUES/FUNK)
Combining several of the elements present in the original Soul Jazz genre, this organ trio blends Blues, Funk, Jazz and World Music into their unique instrumental sound. Left Hand Bass provides a thick bottom while Electric Guitar, Organ and Drums navigate the rhythmic melodies. From the original material on their newest record to jazz and fusion standards of the past, the sound has a wide dynamic and is intent on forging new soundscapes. While there have been several Organ Trio’s, Blues and Funk Trios and Soul Jazz groups, this threesome brings a fresh take on the potential of the instrumentation along with Music in general!
