The intimate setting at Skippers is a great place to hear national recording artists as well as local musicians. Getting to see everyone from Bird Dog Bobby to John Mayall is a real treat. I am looking forward to hearing Indigenous and the Damon Fowler Group. Plus Joanna Conner on Dec. 29th. Oh, and the food is great too. Thank you to whoever it is that minds the store. Kayo.

Here's a rare treat for all Skipper's customers that have a home computer. A Pinellas Park recording artist and songwriter has composed a special song for Skipper's Smokehouse. It is called BALD HEAD DIVA. It's available as a MP3 audio file at this website: http://www.audiokingdom.com/html/clerk.pl/AK?Item=A11180002-002

Book Celtic Soul! A rockin Irish Band from Jasksonville. They blew away the crowd at Magnolia, Springfest and the Dunedin celtic festival. They would be great in the sand at Skippers.

Skipper's Smokehouse is THE finest live music venue in Florida. The menu is incomparable. Gimme a fried grouper sammich and a couple of those good ole hush puppies, don't forget lots of Red Stripe, and it doesn't get any better. However, I have recently discovered some shocking news. Three of the "mulletts" on board are actually closely related to one another. I'm not sure exactly who is the grand-pa and who is the dad (I have heard that Tom is the grand-pa and John Maylott is his son), but I know Vince is Tom's grandson. Check it out for yourself. It's a matter of public record.

I will remember Skipper's for many reasons, one of the fondest being their very first Buddy Guy show. He came out at I think 7:30, played for an hour or so and then told they crowd he was having so much fun he "wasn't even goin' to take no break". What a show.

Well kids. It's about that time again for The Travelin Trezzabury's annual trip to Fla., always to include a stop or two to the motherland. The place has certainly come a long way since the early eighties and the original smeggers. Whenever I strayed from the steam table to leave Fryin' Brian solo for that lost hour or so I was never too far. Looking forward to catching some great music and some old familiar faces the end of March....

Blue Dice is a powerhouse 8 piece all original horn band based out of the Bay area. Thank You Much Skippers for allowing us to season our original music project on your stage. Oh by the way, our music producer for our 2nd CD "Why Now" is Jim Gaines who has produced world known artists like Tower of Power, Steve Miller Band, Luther & Bernard Allison, Carlos Santana including the most recent 1999 release Supernatural with Rob Thomas and Dave Matthews that sold over 6 million CD's in 8-10 weeks. Now Jim is Producing the Dice. Check us out in concert around the Bay Area, Statewide Music Festivals, Disney World and of course our kick ass performances at Skippers Smokehouse. If you want to become a Dice Head check out our website at www.bluedice.com

Hi Vince, Tom and Vicki, et al. I came across this website accidentally while looking at Marianne Fleming's website... I used to work for you guys as well as sing w/ Marianne - summer of '82. Aaaah - the good old days - I have many excellent memories of shuckin', cookin' (sweatin' in the tiny kitchen) I remember best - "Skipper's Smokehouse - We smoke everything!' Wasn't that the truth... Good to see you're all doing so well...when out of ski country and in your area, I'll be sure to stop in. Happy Year 2000. Julie
