I finally made it to Skippers's Smokehouse last Sun to see the Damon Fowler Group! Awesome place & awesome group!! I am obsessed with the blues and look forward to coming back!!! I just moved here from Pittsburgh recently and it was the ultimate to listen to good music and to actually be outside in late December!! My kind of place!! I can't wait to try the food next time!!

The Bay area found out what the rest of the state has known for 5 years. The "Lenny and Me" band has more original material than most acts in the state. "St. Augustine",
"Miami River", "Kokomo Joe", "Pop White", all Florida songs for Florida people. Proclaimed by Monte Yoho "The Outlaws", Jimmy Oleandor "Diamond Rio" as one of the best original musicians playing today. Hope to see them again. Bob

Skipper's is one of the best places to see live music! I've loved every show I've seen in there cozy courtyard, especially the women performers. Hope to see Alix Olson there on her FLorida tour :-)

I lived in Temple Terrace in the late 1980s. I am originally from the Pittsburgh area, now living in Lake Worth, FL. I made several visits to Skipper's Smokehouse back then. I will always remember the performance given there by Mr. Roy Buchanan, the nman with the guitar that cried, before he met his untimely death. I had seen him perform in the Pittsburgh area several times prior to his show at Skipper's, but the show he gave that night was truly one of the best I had ever seen him perform.

Congratulations on 21 GREAT years. Keith and I were both there when it all started and fondly remember the Sunday night Blues Jams, buying beer at Hazel's Bargain Shop and keeping warm in the winter by the steel barrell filled with wood and fire! We wondered then if T. C. Carr would ever make anything of himself and today he is one of our local favorites. I have enjoyed many fine shows at Skipper's over the years.Recently,I have seen two Latino-based bands here that have blown my socks off.I was very impressed with Rico Monaco and Sol Sons,despite the small crowd.Hopefully,you will have them back on a Saturday,and they will get a little more exposure.Los Mocosos tore down the house and set it on fire!Thanks to you and WMNF for always providing a forum for talented people and those seeking quality alternative entertainment.

I wanted you to know how disappointed I was in your meet the bucs night. it was only after I called the bucs to complain the next day that I found out it was not even a sanctioned bucs activity. what a disappointment. sit and wait for hours for a buc to make an appearance, even one would have been nice. not even a chance to take a picture. the kids were the most disappointed. where was the activities and prizes promised??? they never appeared. and what happened to the buc jerseys that were shown to be raffled off, how did they disappear? we hung out til the end, thinking that skipper's would never do this to us-you would pull through in the long run. you did not. all in all it was a waste of time and money. please don't ask us to meet anyone else.
