Greetings from Iowa! I learned of Skippers thanks to Suncoast Society member Bob Brown who frequents our wonderful Blues on Grand (2002 KBA blues club of the year!) when traveling through Des Moines...on vacation here for only a week and came to your club twice, specifically for michael burks and a long time favorite, kraig kenning... will certainly look forward to returning, met some great people and heard great music!

I just wanted to say thanks for putting Tab Benoit on the schedule again although I was hoping it would be sooner it gives me something to look forward to. And my next request is for Reckless Kelly - when will they play here again, now that they have a video out I am hoping you'll invite them back soon and maybe you can get Micky and the Motorcars to open for them. Thanks for the great music.

Sitting here on another rainy day in Ketchikan, Alaska(we receive about 160 inches of rain annualy). I was feeling hungry so I went to look at the Skippers menu and realized that you guys probably wouldn't deliver this far. I would kill for some blackbean chili, but to no avail. I sure do miss it there sometimes. Music, cool chicks, good food, man, I can't take it. I'm going to go get a plane ticket.

Sept/2003 My husband and I lived in Bayonet Point for about 7 years. We enjoyed going to Skippers for the weekly wednesday "dead" night bands. We have some great memories of sitting beneath the large moss covered trees listening to the music while sipping on the best Margaretta's ever! Awesome causal atmosphere. Fun place to meet people or just hang out. The best live entertainment in the area! Thanks Skippers!

I just wanted to say thanks to The Whole Skipper's Smokehouse Family for showing me so much hospitality in the year and a half that I was a Tampa resident. I'm now in NYC pursuing my MBA degree, but Ican't look by all the great memories of the place. From partying with Tab Benoit, to meeting Keller Williams, to bringing in 2003 with Donna, plus so many other great times, I was always treated with kindness and warmth. To Rachel, Annie-Mae, Steve, Stony in Knoxville, and Bonny-Best Wishes in Everything & Keep on Jammin'! I used to play at skippers in a band called "Loco Siempre". You scared the shit out of me when I say Guy Clark on your RIP list. As far as I know, Guy is alive and well. I used to work for him and his wife and I'm certain I would have heard if he passed away. Please correct that or else please let me know if you know some information I don't. Thanks

I was at Skippers last week and I thought it was quite boring and the look I got from the girl at the bar because I needed a kleenex was rude! You people can't even spell "Men's and Womens!"

I used to jam at the Smokehouse back in the day. Around '80 or "81. Raisin Cain, Flyin Shoe, Ronnie and the Raygunz. The Smokehouse stands out in my mind as one of the best meeting places in the counrty for the musical community to meet and share ideas. Youze Guyz Rock!!!!!

ok. there must be someone out there that can help me out. I was at a show at skippers to see David Bromberg. The date was December 9th. I do not know what year it was , 86 , 87 , or 88. Richard Gilewitz opened the evenings show. Can someone tell me what year that was . thank you. Skippers is a great place to see anyone who plays there. The food is great too.

Greetings from Regensburg, Germany. During my stay in FLA in the 80's I used to stop by at Skipper's quite often for some delicious oysters and beer. At one memorable occasion I played there on openstage one night with my buddy and hottest-banjo-picker-alive Jon-Mark Fletcher from Lutz, making fame but no fortune as the "The Lutz Allstars". Unfortunately I lost track of Jon-Mark since then. If anyone knows of his whereabouts, would you let me know or tell him to get in touch with me (mschneider@donaumarkt.com) I would sure appreciate it. Thanks.
